SHAKURSPEARE MOSAIC: SEND IN YOUR PLEDGES AND PHOTO SUBMISSIONS TO MAKE ART AND MOVIE HISTORY

Make your pledge and photo submission to be a part of Art and Movie History. We are bringing together Partrons and Artists from around the world with this historic moment that honors Tupac Shakur with the Shakurspeare Mosaic. Patrons can submit their portraits or in the case of Artists, they can submit photos of their artwork to be tiled with photos of actual works by renown Artists such as Romere Bearden, Jacob Lawrence, Elizabeth Catlett, Samella Lewis, and Richmond Barthe' who's historic works of art will also be featured in the movie and available for sale to support the Shakurspeare Motion Picture.

Each pledge is $16 per photo submission or $25 for two photo submissions uploaded and sent at the same time. Each participants photo upon acceptance will be included in the mosaic and the patrons name will be listed in the credits of the Shakurspeare Motion Picture. The Mosiac is aimed to raise funding and to bring awareness to the Shakurspeare Motion Picture, give true insight to Tupac Shakur as being someone who was once a young artist with big dreams, and to break a New World Record for the Most Patrons to Pledge and Submit photos to an Art Mosiac. We can do it! The money raised from the mosiac is to support the Motion Picture Shakurspeare, a romantic dramedy centered around the often controversial world of art and to host community art awareness events.

The Shakurspeare Motion Picture is inspired by the painting and the "Starring Artwork" of the same name 'Shakurspeare' By Artist Darrin Keith Bastfield for which the Late Rapper/Actor Tupac Shakur posed for Bastfield at the age of 16 after sharing with Bastfield his dream to be a Shakespearean Actor while living in Baltimore. The unveiling of the Shakurspeare Mosaic will be held in Shakur's old neighborhood in Baltimore as well as Shakur's and Bastfield's former high school, the Baltimore School for the Arts. The Shakurspeare Mosiac will be permanently displayed at a location very significant to Tupac's teenage years in Baltimore. That location will be announced at the unveiling. Become a Patron and let's make Art and Movie History.

Pledge to the Making of the Shakurspeare Movie

BecomeAPatron.com launches with its first creator (BecomeAPatron.com Founder, Darrin Keith Bastfield) who is seeking patronage for his first feature film, Shakurspeare.

Shakurspeare, a romantic dramedy (romantic drama comedy) feature film centered around the controversial world of art. This film is about how literally overnight, one painting takes the art world by storm and changed a young man's (played by Unity Lewis) life to challenge love and self discovery. This film will include over 30 original works by renowned artists such as Jacob Lawrence, Romere Beardan, Elizabeth Catlett, Richmond Barthe', and Samella Lewis. The works are available for purchase to support the film. This film is aimed to be a true art cult film that will surely bring awareness of the most notable artists the world has ever known.

The Shakurspeare painting is an actual work that the late actor/rapper, Tupac Shakur posed for when he was 16 years of age living in Baltimore, Maryland when explaining to Darrin Keith Bastfield, a high school friend, his love for Shakespeare. The story was first published in chapter 'To Be A Shakespearean Actor' of Bastfield's book 'Back in the Day: my life and times with Tupac Shakur, published 2002 by Randomhouse/One World/Ballantine.

Shakur and Bastfield also formed a rap group called Born Busy in 1988. The recordings that they created together are the very first recordings created by Tupac Shakur and will be included in this film. Shakurspeare was written and to be directed by Darrin Keith Bastfield. More information about this film can be found at www.Shakurspeare.com, the official movie website.

SHAKURSPEARE MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK

This aspect of the film is really sentimental to me as it was a part of my childhood/teenage experience. We are creating the Shakurspeare Soundtrack for the Shakurspeare Motion Picture. In this soundtrack we will feature the Born Busy recordings which are the first recordings ever of the late Tupac Shakur aka MC New York when he lived in Baltimore. This is for 2pac fans who have been anticipating the official release of these recordings since 2009. The image accompanying these words is the first album cover of Shakurspeare when I first introduced the painting. There were a lot of mixed reviews leaving many fans perplexed as to why Tupac was dressed like Shakespeare. Now, I am sure many know as Tupac had a love for Shakespeare which he shared with me right before posing for me. The intent was to have the Born Busy recordings released with my book 'Back in the Day:my life and times with Tupac Shakur' as the book cover was originally supposed to be the 'Shakurspeare' painting. The Art Department of Randomhouse I guess thought different. Shakurspeare on its announcement garnered considerable online press from dozens of online media sources like SPIN Magazine, Rolling Stone, AllHipHop.com, The Wall Street Journal, and the Vatican Church MySpace page. That's right..the Vatican Church!

As as being the first person to record with Tupac along with our other Born Busy group members, Dana Smith and Gerard Young, it is an honor to include these recordings within the soundtrack of the film because it will truly bring honoring Tupac's legacy to full circle. I believe they meant to be a part of the Shakurspeare Motion Picture because it's about "Art" as it has always been for all of us. It's been a long time since 1988 and it's time the world gets to hear them in full context. Your pledge in helping us make this happen in the most creative way would be appreciated.
